Where Sopho Went | A Dartmouth Adventure...

I sometimes forget just how incredibly lucky I am to live in the place that I do. It has (in my opinion anyway) some of the most beautiful little places, tucked away in the not too distant countryside. Little seaside gems that are only a 40 minute drive away that i've always wanted to visit but up to this point never have. Dartmouth is definitely one of those places. I remember driving through it on a day trip with my dad when I was much younger, during the regatta. The entire town was strung with brightly coloured bunting and there were people absolutely everywhere- it was absolutely gorgeous and it's always stuck with me since then and i've meant to make a little trip back.

We all jumped into the car and after a lengthier journey than we were expecting (never trust SatNav British Emily... she's ridiculous), we arrived in the cutest little, pastel coloured seaside town of loveliness The drive itself was quite lovely though, with the windows open, summer playlist on full blast and miles and miles of beautiful countryside. Between the gorgeous weather, the adorable harbour and the winding streets filled with my favourite kind of quirky boutiques, I think I fell in love a little bit.

We had a little wander around the streets, having a look in some of the little home shops - with Dan & I on the move in the next couple of months I'm constantly on the lookout for house inspo! We also found the most adorable dentist i've ever seen, with white washed wood and vintage seaside decor... it would certainly make me feel a whole lot better about a dentist visit thats for sure! There was the cutest little market and we even saw a sausage dog and a pug all within about five minutes of each other - and we all know how happy that makes me...

We ended up being the typical tourists and getting fish and chips and sitting on the bandstand in the sun  (all while attempting to avoid the advancing seagulls - they're infamous for being particularly daring in Dartmouth!). We then popped back into a really cute patisserie that we'd wandered past earlier on called Saveurs and got some treats before the drive home. Dan had never experienced patisserie amazingness before and I think it's safe to say he's a total convert...

It was such a gorgeous day and i'd urge anyone thats in the area to go, it's really beautiful!
