A Fabulously British Autumn Range?
Hi everyone! As you know, I am a huge Jack Wills devotee. I eagerly await the arrival of the seasonal handbook (especially as it usually arrives a couple of weeks before my birthday so I can spend the following weeks hinting at the family by leaving open pages on the coffee table and such...). Anywho, Jack Wills is, and has been for a few years, my first stop for cosy, practical but stylish Autumnal items, but this year I really do feel that they've upped their game.
Jack Wills, especially where I am in Devon is often only seen in heavily branded t-shirt or hoodie form on teenage holiday makers around the Salcombe area and it has gained a bit of a reputation for being aimed at teenagers who want nothing more than to be a walking advertisement for the brand...which for a 21 year old JW obsessive isn't ideal! This season though, the range has a much more grown up feel. Think autumnal burgundies, beautiful paisley style prints and (as always) knitwear to die for. It's got all the quintessential Britishness that Jack Wills is known for, but just a little more grown up... it's more graduate than fresher!
I've picked out a few things that have really stuck out for me and with any luck will be winging their way to my autumn/winter wardrobe post birthday!

(1.Beckside Crew // 2. Alchester Dress // 3. Chertsey Dress // 4. Bickley Blouse) |
1. Jack Wills have been pretty focused on their crew tops in the past couple of seasons and it's quite clear to see from the new handbook that they are a staple for the coming Autumn. They, as usual, have a variety of different colours and prints, but this particular grey marl offering looks super soft, cosy and has the versatility that I think you need from pieces this time of year. With changeable weather, this is the perfect happy medium between thick knitwear and thinner jersey material and the fact that it could be worn either on its own or over a shirt with the collar poking out is just what you need.
2. I'm an absolute sucker for polka dots and they've really hit the mark, with this kind of pattern featuring on a few of the A/W pieces. I love the cute collar on this dress and think the shape is ideal as it's brilliant for the day time with tights and flats (tan loafers maybe?) or worn with heels in the evening. I love a bit of navy and think this dress would be a good little staple item even into the winter.
3. T-shirt dresses have been a huge trend in the past few months and they've followed suit with this paisley/floral print one. I love the vintage style pattern and can see this dress being ideal for those lazy sundays at home when you want something comfy but still want to look nice. It would be fab with tights and my Glenthorne tan brogues or even some wellies and cable knit socks for country dog walks in Staffordshire with Dan and his dog. I think this one is definitely a must have and the page has remained firmly folded down as a reminder since the handbook arrived! The floral version doesn't appear to be on the website at the moment, i'm sure it's still available in stores however so i've linked the other colour that it comes in.
4. I can't tell you how much I love this shirt. It's just gorgeous. Again the polka dots have sucked me in, but I love how they've taken what could have been quite a simple shirt and added the lighter coloured piping. I think it just makes it look that little bit more grown up and it's attention to detail like that that is one of the reasons i've always loved the brand. This would look lovely with some ankle grazer jeans and brogues and the thin material is fab for layering. Love love love it.

(5. Hudswell Cardi // 6. Alwyn Parka // 7. Whittenham Chelsea Boots // 8. Maddison Skinny Crop) |
5. This cardi is similar to one that they did last year that was a super soft, very light grey colour. I never got around to buying that one but I think I could be tempted to invest this year. This one has a detail down the front that the other didn't and it just looks so, so cosy that I think I just need it in my life! With leggings it would be perfect if you're just snuggled indoors on those chilly evenings.
6. I've been after a parka style jacket for absolutely ages and this one looks fab. The only thing I would say is that i'm quite tempted to wait it out a little as they do tend to do sherpa lined versions of their autumn coats and as lovely as this one is, i'd rather have a bit of a thicker, wintery version for when it gets really cold!
7. I don't think that you can go too wrong with a pair of classic leather chelsea boots. With tights and a dress or a pair of jeans they just add a bit of a smarter edge and they're so practical it's unreal. These particular ones are made in collaboration with N.P.S Shoes Ltd. meaning that they're entirely British made and such an amazing quality. Theres also something very British about a chelsea boot, and you can't go wrong with that, can you?!
8. Jack Wills have also added to their existing range of denim styles this season with a cropped version of their super skinny Fernham jeans (which i'm already a huge fan of). Cropped ankle grazer styles have been everywhere and I love the berry tone of this pair. I tend to fold the bottoms of my skinny jeans up to achieve an ankle grazer length anyway, but with these there would be no need. The jeans are such a fab fit, i've been buying them for a while and they're so good and last forever, so definitely worth the investment!
Are there any ranges that have stuck out for you recently?

DeleteI love the polka dot dress, so pretty! I've lusted over Jack Wills items in the past, but I think it's pretty expensive. The Whittenham Chelsea boots are gorgeous - just what I'm looking for only in black :) xx
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty pricey, but having been a bit obsessed with it for quite a few years i'm still so impressed with the quality of the products which I think makes the prices a bit more justified even if it does take a bit of persuasion to actually bite the bullet and hand my card over at the till! xx
