Benefit - Stay Flawless Primer Review
Hi everyone!I did a little bit of make up shopping a few weeks ago and was jammy enough to get the new Stay Flawless 15 hour primer in the Benefit Brow Bar as a VIP product (it sounds snazzier than it is, it just meant that it wasn't actually supposed to be out until the following Monday or something but still, i'll take VIP where I can get it...). Anywho, after discovering the loveliness that is Stay Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation earlier in the year I was pretty intrigued to try out the new matching primer.
I've used a couple of Benefit primers before in the form of That Gal brightening face primer which I really loved and made my face lovely and glowy and The Porefessional which is also fairly good especially for a matte finish. Seeing as i've loved the Stay Flawless foundation so much I had really high hopes for this product. I've got to say though, i'm not blown away.
The product itself is in a twist up tube so you apply it from there straight onto your face, no brushes needed, then you apply your foundation straight away, blending the two together on your face. I'm really not a huge fan of the application, the product itself does go on well but I don't like the fact you apply it to your face like a massive lipstick. I also think with a more cream/liquid based formula you could buff it into your skin more with a brush before buffing your foundation in on top. Mixing the two products while they're on your face just made me feel like I had far too much make up on.
The primer itself does glide on well, it's colourless which is what you'd expect of most good primers and it's got no overwhelming scent. It blends well with your foundation once you put the two together but I do feel like it makes my ordinarily breathable foundation feel a little bit cakey, which I found odd for a sister product of the Stay Flawless Foundation. The foundation on it's own for me has very good staying power and for that reason, with the addition of the primer i'm not entirely sure if it really did make my foundation last much longer than usual, that might just be me though!
All in all, this isn't a bad product whatsoever, i'm sure that there are people out there that would absolutely love it, I just really don't, not for me anyways!
Are there any products recently that you've been just a little bit disappointed with?
You followed me on twitter so I cam across your blog and love it!
