Review: Benefit It's Potent! Eyecream

Hi lovelies!
I bought this on my last trip to Benefit a couple of weeks ago, but wanted to get some proper use out of it before reviewing it for you! As with most Benefit items, the reviews on the website tend to claim miraculous results within about 24 hours and skin that looks 15 years younger overnight, so I thought i'd test it out properly!

Now, i've recently i've noticed really dark areas below my eyes, whether this is down to lack of sleep finally catching up with me (I don't really sleep like a normal person!) or the general stress of my final year at university, I can only hazard a guess, but frankly, I don't want to have to keep slathering loads of make up on to cover them up! So, when I saw this with it's promises to fade dark circles, I was sold. Firstly, as with the rest of this Radiance range, the packaging is absolutely gorgeous. As you can see, the product comes in a little jar, with a cork effect lid, matching the rest of the range and it's apothecary style bottles. I can't wait to get them all back on my dressing table at home next week! The first thing I noticed was that it smells a lot more subtle than the rest of the range. The rest of the range isn't by any means overpowering but I would say this is almost fragrance free in comparison, which for a product that is used so close to the eyes can never be a bad thing.

The formulation of the product itself is creamy (obviously!) but really light. I think I was expecting something much thicker, but actually for under the eyes, lighter is better. It sinks in really well and doesn't leave too much of a residue, with other eye creams i've tried I have found them to be a little bit greasy, but this one is really lovely. I tend to pat some of this just under my eyes after i've cleansed and moisturised, twice a day. In terms of results, after about a week a half-ish of using it twice a day, the darkness has lightened ever so slightly, but I can't see a huge difference, although bear in mind I haven't been using it for a massively long time, so as they say, I guess only time will tell. I'm not ready to go makeup free quite yet though, put it that way!

Overall, i've really liked this product. It feels nice on my skin, moisturises without being greasy and i'm hoping that with continued use I will start to see a bigger difference, i'll keep you all updated on this one!

Has anyone else given this one a whirl? If so, what did you think?

  1. I have never tried any of Benefit's skincare before, as it seems a bit pricey. Although this does really nice xx

    1. Initially I was a bit put off by the prices of all of the stuff but having had a mental moment and taken the plunge with it all it's made such a massive difference to my skin! It all smells gorgeous and it's lasted for ages so it's not something you'd be replacing constantly xx
