London Fashion Week - Sopho's Favourites...

13:58 Unknown 12 Comments

So, tonight I'd planned to have had a proper play with my new camera (it's beautiful and I never want to put it down!) then post some lovely photos for you all to peek at, but alas, I was struck down in the 'prime of lime'- little Friends reference for you there- and have got a pretty horrendous cold. So, while i've been sat around in my comfy clothes feeling a bit sorry for myself and consuming one too many Party Rings i've had a chance to catch up on some of the shows from London Fashion Week. Its my yearly ritual to wait until it's nearing a close and watch all of my favourite designers collections online. Of course, I would absolutely LOVE to actually attend one day, it's one of my major life aims, but hey, for the moment i'm quite content to sit at home in my floral pyjamas with a cup of tea and the biscuit tin...you can't do that sitting next to Anna Wintour on the FROW now can you?!

There were a few shows that particularly stuck out for me this season, but i've chosen my top three...otherwise you'd all be here for days!

Erdem...

This collection was just beautiful, a mix of dark colours and stunning floral details....it was all just gorgeous! I loved the mixture of textures, the sheer lacy panels, the sequins, the feathers. It all looked incredibly tactile, I always think thats a good sign, if you want to reach out feel whether the clothes feel as beautiful as they look, you're onto a winner in my book. I loved the little touches like the the girly collars and the polka dots, these mixed with the dark colour palette gave a lovely contrast. This was a bit of a different collection for Erdem, he tends to stick with a super feminine, very pretty aesthetic, but while the colour palette moved away from this, theres no denying that the femininity was still a very strong feature. I absolutely loved this collection.

Felder Felder...

This collection was another that I really liked. The whole collection has something very effortless about it, with a palette of lovely burgundies, reds, earthy colours and blacks, it was as you would expect from an A/W collection, absolutely perfect for this time of year. My favourite pieces were, as you can see, the more understated pieces, the longer length knitwear, the skinny trousers and the macs in the most gorgeous colours. The hats also massively swayed me, I love a good hat at the moment! This was a collection I could easily imagine myself wearing, simple shapes, beautiful colours, effortlessly stylish.

ALICE by Temperley...

Alice Temperley in my opinion is just an absolute genius. She just gets how to mix vintage elements with beautiful garment shapes to create breathtakingly feminine clothes. This collection is my absolute favourite favourite favourite. It's just so pretty. These dresses are to die for, the detailing on them is amazing, with the polka dots and lovely embellishments on the two blue dresses... mix that with a lovely splash of pastel and I for one am absolutely SOLD. I'm going to stop because I could go on for days about this collection so theres nothing more to say other than I want it all. It's all absolutely beautiful!

So, those were my favourites, there were others like Mulberry that I really liked and I thought some of the stuff in the Giles show was quite lovely but these were the ones that really stood out for me! Did you watch any of the shows, which came out on top for you?
I hope you're all having a lovely week so far!
