Hi lovelies!
So this week we popped to one of my favourite cities in the world, Exeter. It's only around an hour away from me and I personally think the shopping is a bit more varied (theres my favourite shop in the world Jack Wills there for a start...) so I do find that it's worth the drive. The city is absolutely beautiful, with the Cathedral green surrounded by quirky little shops and tea rooms and the rather brilliant, fairly shiny and new Princesshay shopping centre tucked in behind it, theres something for absolutely everyone. Shopping wise, theres a lot of shops here that to be totally honest, for a girl from deepest darkest Devon are pretty exciting, especially as we used to have to go all the way to Bristol for this kind of shopping. Theres a fairly newly opened Urban Outfitters in the most beautiful tudor style black and white building, along with Cath Kidston and a Hollister (not for everyone, but like I said, i'm used to a city where we've only just got a Prezzo!) and most exciting, John Lewis...after living in Leicester for the last three years with John Lewis just up the road, having one only an hour away is an absolute dream! Theres a massive range of cafes and restaurants, loads more than we have at home, so as for lunchtime/shopping break snack options, theres masses. We opted for Nandos (not overly original but hey, a girls gotta get her peri-peri on occasionally...). We had a wander around some of the little lanes around the cathedral after our obligatory trip to Jack Wills where I may or may not have purchased the brogues that i've been after for what feels like forever... more on that later in the week though... with the lovely sunny weather we decided to snap some photos, in such lovely surroundings we couldn't pass up the opportunity, even if I did feel like a bit of an idiot posing for photos with Easter Holiday makers wandering around EVERYWHERE.

As for my outfit, in true Sopho style, it's a bit of a Jack Wills bonanza, the jumper was bought in the Kilver Court outlet store last summer, it's just a cute shrunken cable knit which is always handy on the kind of day we had in Exeter where it was warm enough to go coatless but chilly enough to need a bit of knitwear. The skirt was from the Spring season last year, it's lovely and has a little drawstring. I also love that it doesn't look totally ridiculous with tights at this time of year so it's not something that gets demoted to the summer wardrobe pile as soon as the sun goes in! Other than that it was just my trusty Primark Super Cosy tights (they're a marvel!) and my shoe of the moment, my Forever21 moccasins. As usual my Alexa came too, I cannot get enough of that bag. A fairly simple outfit but ideal for wandering around on a sunny day! Also, this is the first time in my blogs little history (and indeed the first time really in about 4 years...) that I am without hair extensions...that's a big thing for me as I don't think i'll ever truly like my own hair without them, but still, it's nice to not have anything attached to my head!

I also received some pretty amazing news today. News that I feel like i've been waiting on forever and considering this is an Exeter centred post it made a lot of sense to reveal all on here...I'll be spending a whole lot more time here because i've been offered a conditional place to do my Masters in English Literary Studies at Exeter University. As everyone that I live with at both uni and home will testify, i've been an absolute nervous wreck waiting for the response since applying in February but it finally came. I can't tell you how excited I am, Exeter is pretty much my dream uni and one that I wish i'd had the confidence in myself to apply to originally, although saying that I have had the best time at DMU so I have no regrets. But grade dependent, i'm in. I don't want to jinx it nor do I want to sound like one of these braggy people that are all too common on Facebook and the such like, but i'm so relieved and everything seems to be falling into place at last.

On which note, I hope you're all having a lovely and successful week!
