'Croquet on the lawn!'

Hi everyone!

A couple of weeks ago after a little trip to a tea room for research purposes (Tom and I have a little plan for a future blog feature... all will become clear!) we made a bit of a snap decision to go and visit Saltram House, a beautiful Georgian National Trust house only about 10 minutes away from my house. It's absolutely stunning, has the most amazing grounds and although it's just on the outskirts of Plymouth, it's somewhere that I often completely forget about when deciding upon things to fill my days!

After a wander around the beautiful house (it was used in Sense and Sensibility the film with Kate Winslet in it) taking in all the bygone loveliness and deciding which bits of furniture we'd both like in our own houses...keep dreaming Sophs, keep dreaming... we went for a little stroll around the grounds and stumbled across a croquet set that had been put out on the lawn for visitors to play. Not being the sporty type, me and Tom didn't have a clue how to actually play, but I thought my outfit went pretty well with the whole croquet thing. It was actually something i'd worn for a job interview earlier in the day so excuse the fact that I look horrifically tired... 6am starts to get to Exeter for 9am are not the one! But hey, at the very least you all get to appreciate photos of me and Tom attempting to pretend that we knew what we were doing...
