Sopho's most wanted. Week #4

05:05 Unknown 14 Comments

Hello lovely people! Firstly, I know that by no means do I have a massive number of followers in comparison to some of the other lovely blogs in the blogesphere, but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that has found my little follow button... in under a week, my followers have gone up massively, which must mean that i'm doing an ok job so thank you all!  Just thought i'd share a few of the things that i'm lusting after this week...

1. Topshop  2.Topshop  3.Benefit  4.Models Own
1. I've had my eye on a few monochrome polka dot shirts since I borrowed my flatmate Melissa's one to go to a Spots and Stripes themed house party a few weeks ago. First of all, you have to appreciate the amazingness of living with three other girls as you have all the outfit options in the world, but also, this shirt is just the perfect transitional piece for the odd Winter/Spring period. This Topshop one is a thick enough material to just throw on with jeans and a jumper on those chilly wintery days, but it will also be ideal for the slightly warmer Spring days that i'm hoping are on the way! It's also brilliant as it can be dressed up or down, i'm actually planning to wear it for my boyfriends birthday celebrations over the weekend with some dark skinny jeans and my heeled chelsea boots... perfect for a chilled Sunday lunch out with his parents! They've got a really similar shirt in a much sheerer fabric which is also gorgeous, but for day to day you'd probably want to pop a camisole top underneath which is why I opted for this slightly thicker one.

2. This lipstick is quite honestly the shade i've been after for months. I've searched high and low for the perfect coral and found most of them to either be either far too orange in tone or just far too bright! This Topshop lipstick is not only my first Topshop make up venture (I know, I know, i'm seriously late to the party...) but its also just the loveliest Springtime corally shade, it's much pinker than others that i've tried and it's subtle enough that you don't feel silly wearing it during the day. It's lovely and a welcome change from my usual red or nude colours. Plus, it's called Macaroon, and who doesn't like maccaroons?!

3. Benefits Bad Gal Lash is one of those products that i've gone back to time and time again. I was introduced to their They're Real mascara by my other flatmate Alice who bought me some for my 21st in September and thats brilliant, but i'd say it's better if you're looking for super thick, super long lashes, which I must admit I don't want every single day. Bad Gal is the perfect every day one in my opinion, it's easy to layer if you want a bit more thickness but it's not overly gloopy like you find with some. It's my failsafe!

4. I love Models Own polishes, but due to the horrendous nail biting habit that i've always had, I never get the chance to use them... but i've turned over a new leaf and for the first time ever I actually have nails and no desire to bite them! Yay! I'm a big fan of pastel nails, so this super pale lilac/grey colour called Utopia is right up my street. It's not the most out there colour in the world, but it's a lovely simple colour and i'm thinking I may have to purchase it come Scholarship day!

So, as usual, click on the links below the picture if i've managed to tempt you into anything, has there been anything thats caught your eye this week? I hope you're having a good week so far!

  1. I'm so bad at buying tops, all I own is dresses and skirts that I end up teaming with the same old jumper. I need that spot top

  2. Oh wow, that top is lovely! It's the sort of thing I would wear on a daily basis, helped by the fact that monochrome is very popular right now! Would pair with my usual skinnies :p I've never actually tried Topshop makeup (I've only ever tried every single other makeup brand in the western world) but that lipstick looks truly scrumptious :)

  3. I'm getting more and more into shirts recently, they look so cute buttoned right up to the top with skinny jeans! And i'm exactly the same, i'm usually a massive advocate of MAC lipsticks so this one was very out of character for me but it's so lovely and formulation wise is super creamy so it's ideal! xx

  5. I've been wanting to try Bad Gal for so long, then I got tempted by They're Real but I've heard such mixed reviews I can't make up my mind! Loving that lipstick though.

    1. I really like them both, but Bad Gal is just so easy for the daytime, it's enough but not too much, it's one i've always used and i've gone back to time and time again so i'd definitely recommend it! They're Real is brilliant but I tend to use it if i'm going out more than anything as i'm absolutely rubbish with fake eyelashes and it creates a similar effect! xx
