Pretty polishes...

Hi Lovelies! So, this year in an attempt to prove my dad that I could pack lightly to move back to uni in September, I left my massive tin of Models Own polishes back at home in Plymouth...I built up quite the collection last year when I got seriously into floral nail art (they took FOREVER but looked amazing!). Until now i've not been too bothered with my sad collection of four polishes that i've collected this year because of my serious lack of nails, but now I actually have them I had a hankering! So today, after a quick trip to the Benefit Brow Bar (my brows were horrific!) I popped into the massive Boots in town and had a peek at their Models Own offerings...they were 2 for £8, which when you consider they're usually £5 a polish isn't something to sniff at! I settled on these two lovelies, Utopia, which I featured on one of my Sopho's Most Wanted posts a few weeks ago...and yes, I know I forgot to do one last week... i'll go in the bloggers box of shame (cheeky Despicable Me reference there...) and Northern Lights.

Utopia i'd describe as a kind of super pale lilac/ mushroom colour (you'll soon get used to my weird colour descriptions...I described some leggings to an assistant in Topshop as 'Albino Camel' once...) it's really pretty, the perfect half way point between lilac and grey...I love love love it already it's perfect for the awkward Winter to Spring period. It's fairly sheer when you first apply it but as with most Models Own polishes a couple of coats and you're good to go!

Northern Lights is a glittery polish with a pinky base and lots of pretty pink, silver and purple glitter bits. As with most glittery polishes you need a good couple of coats to get a properly bedazzled finish, but once it's on its really lovely... I bought these two shades because I love a pastel and also they look really pretty together...as you can see I went for the obligatory blogger 'accent nail'...yep, i've become one of those people! But it looks pretty so it's all fine and dandy! Also...massive apologies that it looks like a child has painted these... blame my dodgy left hand...

I also finally received a tripod that actually works and attempted some self taken outfit photos for today... but they are too horrendous for words... I don't even know what kind of face I was trying to pull, i'll get the hang of it eventually. However in the meantime,  i'm going to the boyfriends house at the weekend to frolic in the countryside (we all know thats a lie...I have never frolicked anywhere...) but yes, I will finally get to play with my camera properly and i'll get him to take some proper outfit photos in pretty surroundings!

I hope you're all having a good week so far!

    1. It's so lovely! And it's not super gritty like some other glitters i've used, especially with a topcoat, it's a good'un i'd definitely recommend it! xx
